                                                      Spiritual Growth

For spiritual growth, we believe that there are three essential components
                                                      • Cultivating our relationship with God. This means getting serious about worship and prayer.
                                                      • Cultivating relationships with others within the Christian community. We do this by connecting through small groups.
                                                      • Reaching out in faith beyond ourselves and beyond our church into the world to serve others.
All three components are equally necessary for a person to grow spiritually.

If we neglect our relationship with God, our relationships with others can become skewed, our inner peace is challenged, and our place in the world feels uncertain. If you struggle to find space in your life for God, don't despair. You have a lot of company both inside and outside of the church. Many people, including many Christians, find focusing in prayer a challenge. Carving time out of an already packed schedule is challenging.

If we fail to connect with others in the faith community our spiritual life will be one-dimensional. In community we find support for ourselves when we go through difficult times and, just as importantly, support others through their times of crisis. In small groups we can develop deep relationships where we put aside superficial chatter and talk deeply about that things that matter most.

If we fail to reach out, we say that faith is a gift given to me, rather than a gift for the whole world. In outreach we discover our true selves through service; we meet Christ in the faces of the poor; we see ourselves and our lives in a larger context.

Where to start? Jump in wherever it is most comfortable for you. Show up to Sunday worship and meet some of our church members and our pastors. Start serving at the community meal on Tuesdays. Bring your family to our Faith Odyssey program on Wednesday. Come the first Sunday of the month for our service of prayer and healing. As you jump in, ask yourself if you are reaching all three areas: Am I connecting with God? Am I building relationships with people within the church? Have I found a way to minister to others?

                                                      Healing Services
Jesus’ ministry included healing the sick and he sent out his disciples to heal in his name. This healing service comes out of our biblical heritage which includes anointing, laying on of hands and prayer for healing. We schedule healing services on request and have found that the request of one person almost always reveals the needs of many. Contact us for information.
